Caitlyn Ryan is Joey’s former love interest from the days of Degrassi High. She hosts her own show, entitled Ryan’s planet. In season 3, Caitlin moves from the Los Angleles area to work at a local television station, as none other than a journalist. Throughout the show, she and Joey continue to maintain a fondness for each other. When Kevin Smith arrives in town, things between Joey and Caitlin get rocky. Caitlin and Kevin go to a bar where they drink and subsequently make out. She then goes to Joey’s house, where she proceeds to propose to him. Kevin interferes and ends up convincing Caitlin to cut-off the wedding arrangements and move with him to Los Angeles. We don’t see Caitlin again until season 5, where Emma calls her out to console Spike amidst her relationship troubles. Caitlin will be reappearing in Season 7 as Ellie’s ex-boyfriends love interest.
