Marco Del Rossi:

Season 2

Marco is one of the coolest kids at Degrassi. He wins the school dance contest, and is friends with Jimmy, Spinner, Craig, and Sean. But he also doesn't go unnoticed by the ladies. Both Hazel AND Ellie have huge crushes on him. He decides that Ellie is much more his type and the two eventually start dating, but he just can't quite get into it because he's having some confusion about his own sexuality. He eventually lets Ellie know that he is gay and the two are best friends and pretending to be a couple so that no one suspects Marco's secret as he is not ready to come out just yet.

Season 3

At the begining of the year Ellie tells Marco she's tired of lying and "breaks up" with him. Meanwhile, Marco has met Paige's gay older brother Dylan, and is very attracted to him. Dylan can tell Marco is gay but Marco just isn't ready. When suggestions fly that Marco may be gay Spinner can't believe it until Marco finally tells him the truth. Spinner shuns him at first, but when Marco gets beat up just for being gay, Spinner realizes he's been unfair and intolerant and they become friends again. Spinner even helps Marco get Dylan as his boyfriend later in the season. After their first disastrous date we find  out that Marco's parents do not even suspect he is gay and his father is not a fan of homosexuals, but Dylan likes Marco anyway and they stay together.

Season 4

The year starts out with Marco running for class president against Alex Nunez. Who threatens to out him at the debate assembly in front of everyone including his father (in the midst of which Marco comes out to his mother), but she has a change of heart, and when Marco wins the election, he makes her his vice president and over the course of the season the two become friends. Marco's year goes from bad to worse when first being rejected for blood donation just because he was gay, than finding Dylan with another guy sparks their break up. At the end of the year Marco joins Caitlin Ryan in Africa for the Summer as part of a story she is doing

Season 5

Marco is back from Africa to find that his two best friends (Ellie and Craig) have become EACH OTHERS best friends over the summer. He can tell that Ellie has a crush on Craig and encourages their relationship. Marco meets Tim, a new, younger gay teen who he encourages to come out to his father. When Tim does he gets kicked out and ends up staying at Marco's for a night Where he finds out Marco isn't even out to his Dad. Marco feels bad and eventually comes out to his father, in public. Marco is the first to make up with Spinner after he was shunned for what happened to Jimmy, and he eventually starts dating Tim even, until Dylan comes back in the picture. When Tim realizes Marco isn't over Dylan and he is being used the two break up. As Marco's year is ending and he graduates it appears he and Dylan are back together.

Season 6

Once done convincing his father that Dylan and himself are merely friends, Marco is allowed to move in with Dylan. Ellie also joins them once she is removed from her dorm. Marco begins to become very lonely with Dylan always being pre-occupied with hockey. Marco also starts to become concerned with Dylan’s very secretive and odd behavior. When he reviews Dylan’s emails, Marco discovers that he is seeing somebody at a bar. Marco proceeds to confront him at the bar when he discovers that Dylan is seeing a hockey scout. We later find that Dylan has been hiding this information for fear of Marco’s disapproval. Dylan ends up being offered a spot on a Swiss hockey team and Marco encourages him to take it. With Dylan gone, Marco takes up gambling as a hobby. While he initially does win some money, he ends up losing far more then he earned, not just in terms of money but dignity. Following his arrest for playing poker inside Spinner and Jimmy’s business, Marco’s father suggests that he work for the money he lost. He also asks that Marco begin attending Gambler Anonymous. Another request of his is for Marco to stop being so dependent on Dylan.

Season 7

With relationship problems looming, Jesse and Ellie arrange a date for Marco with Jesse. Marco first denounces the idea, but slowly begins to accept it with Ellie’s encouragement. Marco also informs Dylan that a break up is on the horizon. Still feeling lonely, Marco attempts to start a relationship with Griffin. After deciding his attraction towards Griffin is inappropriate, he decides to buy a rabbit to subdue his loneliness.
