Welcome to the new Degrassi TNGHO! Just recently, TNGHO has become a community-run site. Registered members can start their own blog, as well as interact in our forums. Since many of you might be unfamiliar with our proprietary blogging platform, this page will guide you through the registration and blogging process.

1.) When unregistered members arrive at our homepage, they will be allotted the option to register. Unregistered members are asked to navigate to the area immediately under the homepage banner, where it says “You are Logged in as,” and click “Register Now!”

2.) Upon selecting the link, unregistered users will be re-directed to our forum registration page. Please read our terms and conditions carefully. If you do not intend to abide by them, we ask that you refrain from registering. Once done reading, click the “I agree to these terms” button.

3.) After you agree to the terms, you will be directed to a registration form. Please complete all the required form fields. Remember: The username you choose will also be your author name, thus, choose wisely. DON’T forget to complete the CAPTCHA (funny letters and numbers image) at the bottom of the page. Once done click submit.

4.) Your registration is now complete! You may be required to validate your registration via e-mail. If you fail to do so, you may not have access to your blog or the forum.

Logging In:

1.) Now that you are registered, you will need to login to the site. Point your browser to our homepage (degrassitngho.com) and scroll to the area immediately under the homepage banner. Follow the “Login” link listed in that area. Alternatively, you can login directly from our forums.

2.) You will be re-directed to the forum login page. Please input your username and password in the appropriate fields and click “Login” The system will log you in. Once finished, allow the site to automatically re-direct you to the forum index.

Adding an Author Avatar:

The new Degrassi TNGHO is designed to display an avatar alongside each individual authors post(s). However, users must upload their own avatar to enable this functionality.

1.) Login to the site
2.) You will be redirected to the forum index: (http://www.degrassitngho.com/forums).
3.) Click “User Control Panel” at top-left of the screen.
4.) Select the “Profile” tab in your control panel.
5.) Select “Edit Avatar” from left sidebar.
6.) Either upload an 80×80 graphic from your computer, or copy the URL of an online graphic for avatar use.
7.) Click Submit

Blogging:
(This is a general overview of the blogging process. Users are encouraged to explore the features available in Wordpress if they wish to further enhance their posts).

*Please glance over the rules page before starting to blog. Any sort of rule infringement will be met by consequence, in the form of either a ban from blogging or a relinquishment of all membership privileges.

The new TNGHO allows for user contributed content. Trusted users registered prior to October 2008 have the ability to add content without administrative approval. HOWEVER, content contributed by users registered after this date will be placed in a queue for administrative review. These contributions will be reviewed and approved on a daily basis.

Modifying your Blogging Profile:

Every Degrassi TNGHO member is provided with their own blog. Each blog address is as follows: degrassitngho.com/author/yourmembername (replace yourmembername with your TNGHO username). As a new user, you need to update your blog profile so people know whose blog they’re viewing.

1.) Login
2.) Navigate to our homepage (degrassitngho.com)
3.) In the area immediately under the homepage header, click “Start Blogging”
4.) In the WP control panel, click on the “Your Blog” tab
5.) Fill out your info in the provided forms.
6.) Click Update profile.

Writing a Post:

1.) Login to the site
2.) Click on the “Start blogging” link located on the forum index, or on our homepage.
3.) Click on the “Write” tab
4.) Populate each of the fields with the appropriate content:
Title – Title of the post
Post – The body of the post
Tags – 5 words that describe the post, separated by commas
Category – Select the most appropriate category for the post
5.) Once done completing all the info, select publish. Your post will either go into queue or be posted directly to our homepage. If you wish to modify it at a later time, select the “Manage tab” and click the title of your post.
6.) To return to the homepage to either logout or continue browsing the site, click the “Visit Site” button located at the top of the blogging control panel.
