8/6/2005 - Defrankie Is A Net Sensation

As many people may already know there is a new "show" sweeping the Degrassi internet community, Defrankie; a show that started getting big in back in June made by three teen guys from Rhode Island. We noticed some group members have been asking where they can get Defrankie episodes lately and so we decided to shed some light on Defrankie and the guys who make it.

First of all for those who don't know, Defrankie is a parody spoof show of Degrassi started by three Rhode Island friends: Frankie Sbacchis, Joe Auger, and James Caputo. The three were bored one day back at the end of May and stemming from their work in making short movies and a backyard wrestling federation they ran, they got out the camera again and decided to make a spoof of their favorite episode of Degrassi "Time Stands Still." They acted out all the parts themselves and added there own style of humor to make it funny. After the owner of jake-epstein.net saw the episode in June and got permission to put it on the site the show just blew up. A week later Frankie was receiving hundreds of Instant Messages and Emails from fans wanting more. So that's exactly what Frankie, James, and Joe did. Making longer episodes, adding more actors, and most of all more humor the show became a hit. Their sixth episode "Queen of Hearts" was just released days ago. On top of that both Frankie and James have their own episodes of Defrankie Unscripted. For those wondering where they can find these episode they are hosted at jake-epstein.net.

Another big passion of Joe, James, and Frankie is music. The three have a band named Second Story Tragedy in which Frankie plays drums and sings, Joe plays bass, and James plays guitar. The three write their own songs and are really quite talented. You can view a video of them playing some of their songs at their website CampFireProductions.org. DegrassiTNGHO recently had a chance to ask Joe Auger a few questions about the band. According to Joe, he and Frankie write the songs with James helping out on a couple. Currently the only gig they have played is at Jame's Birthday Party where the video comes from. Joe told us that they are waiting to get their demo out before going after new gigs.  He informed me they will be recording their demo soon in a basement with a bunch of recording equipment he has. We here at DegrassiTNGHO would like to wish Frankie, James, and Joe the best of luck with their band, and thank Joe for taking the time to talk to us. And if you haven't seen Defrankie yet, what are you waiting for? Go download it, it is extremely funny, we here at DegrassiTNGHO definitely recommend it to any fan of Degrassi.
