5/21/2007 - DegrassiTNGHO Says Goodbye

 

Sadly, we at the TNGHO are forced to make an announcement that has been looming for some time. Due to a severe lack of the time necessary to keep this site up and running at a quality that we are happy with, we will be closing the TNGHO doors, effective on June 15th, 2007. 

There are a number reasons in addition to lack of time (though I did have to scrounge time just to write this up); one of them being: the main reason TNGHO became so popular, is because we made our main goal to help Americans see the episodes at the same time Canadians did. By helping spawn the episode downloading trend, we not only did that, but we helped influence the-N to stream episodes online for free, also. Today, many sites offer our same services. Therefore, we feel we can walk away without hurting the fans of the show. And while we hold out that we have always offered the most straightforward, necessary and easiest to read Degrassi news and info, there will not be a void left in our wake. There are many other great Degrassi sites if you just look for them. 

So that leads to the next order of business… In the last week of June we will be auctioning off the www.degrassitngho.com URL to interested buyers. The purchaser would have the option to keep running TNGHO as it stands currently, although you would need your own hosting; to completely re-do the site, or to use it as a redirect URL to another site. This could be a lucrative option for owners of other Degrassi Fan Sites, or even sites that vend Degrassi memorabilia and merchandise. Stay tuned for more info on the auction, right here. 

But enough with the sales pitch. We, at TNGHO love this show. And we are sad that we were not able to see the show through to its series finale, but hell… this show could go on forever! All the better. And boy will be it nice just to watch Degrassi, and not have to treat it like a job! 

I personally (thedonoman) would like to thank cerebral for all the hard work he has put into the site in the past year, as I have not been able to donate nearly the same effort I used to. He has ran the show for a long time and deserves an immense amount of credit. Also, we’d both like to thank our host Mandy, for giving us free hosting for the past few months, and cheap hosting before that. And last but not least, we need to thank all of the fans of our site! Without our members this site would be pointless, so thank you! 

And don’t worry. We’ll still be around the message boards.
