10/30/2005 - Degrassi TNG Movie Produced By Paramount?
The Executive Producer Stephen Stohn posted today that he will be meeting with Paramount, Monday on the possible big Degrassi feature film project. Paramount Pictures (producer of movies such as Braveheart, Titanic, and The Longest Yard) being involved in the film makes sense as Paramount is owned by The N' s parent company, Viacom. The fact that it could be produced (if only partially) by Paramount Pictures also adds to the speculation that this could in fact be a theatrical release and not just a TV or straight to DVD movie.
In his post he also mentioned that in New Jersey the third week of April that there will most likely be an event for the Jay and Silent Bob Do Degrassi DVD.
Finally he says he will be meeting in New York next week with The N on some Degrassi, non-TV related projects, more to come later.
His post is below:
"Something is in the works for around the third week of November, probably in New Jersey, for the release of the Jay and Silent Bob Do Degrassi DVD...
And I'm going to New York (oops, I mean an undisclosed location somewhere in the free world where the HQ of The N is located) next week to start the development of a couple of new Degrassi-related things (can't say what, but they are not primarily tv-related) that if they work out could be pretty amazing and I think you'll like them!
Oh, and we have a script meeting with Paramount on Monday about the possible feature film..."
